Our cab mock-up goes on public display

We are delighted that Hitachi Rail Europe has donated the mock-up of the Class 800/801 cab to the National Railway Museum in York. DCA designed and built this cab mock-up together with a 30m mock-up of the 1st and Standard Class environments as part of our development of the passenger and driver interiors for this train.

The mock-up is now on display alongside Hitachi’s own Shinkansen bullet train and an example of the Intercity 125 High Speed Train (HST) which the Class 800/801 trains will be replacing from 2017 onwards on the East Coast and Great Western main lines.

We hope that the public will enjoy this chance to get a driver’s view of these new trains.
