DCA wins Red Dot 2018 Design award for the newly launched Zetasizer Pro and Zetasizer Ultra for Malvern Panalytical
With Malvern Panalytical’s launch of Zetasizer Ultra and Zetasizer Pro, DCA announces receiving a Red Dot 2018 design award for these next-generation instruments.
Zetasizer Ultra / Zetasizer Pro, launched on 23rd May 2018, offers unique capabilities for scientists working with nanomaterials and formulations across a wide range of industry sectors. Zetasizer Ultra delivers higher resolution particle sizing with innovative new Multi-Angle Dynamic Light Scattering (MADLS®), along with calibration-free particle concentration determination. Zetasizer Ultra / Zetasizer Pro reflects and contemporises the values and heritage of Malvern Panalytical’s flagship Zetasizer Nano range, upon which the technology of this enhanced next generation instrument is based.
DCA partnered with Malvern’s development team, with DCA being responsible for the new product format, visual design (including colours, materials and finishes) and the main user interaction points, and working closely with Malvern to see the design through to production realisation.
This year, companies and designers from 59 countries entered more than 6,300 innovations in the Red Dot Award for Product Design. The panel of experts awards the internationally recognised seal of quality only to products that win them over with their high design quality.
Statement by the Red Dot jury: “Zetasizer Ultra and Zetasizer Pro fascinate with their sculptural look of puristic elegance, which does not distract from their intuitive use”.
“We are very proud to have helped Malvern achieve these two advanced next generation scientific instruments, and absolutely delighted to have won this prestigious Red Dot 2018 design award. “ Chris Langley (DCA - Senior Sector Manager)
