Prototyping UX
Bringing UX concepts to life
At the centre of DCA there has always been a development workshop. It allows us to learn, evaluate and refine by making and testing, which enables us to bring almost any experience to life whether physical or digital or both.
When delivering any new experience, communicating and testing it leads to success, whether it be the dose button on an insulin pen or a new vision for luxury travel. Beyond initial post-it notes, sketches or renderings, new concepts need to be communicated as efficiently and effectively as possible. We live in a world where our experiences are defined by our response to a range of multi-sensorial factors, whether these be light, sound, temperature, smell or touch. It is the multi-modal combination of these factors that determines the nature of our experiences. DCA is uniquely positioned to prototype and test multi-sensory experiences, with our multidisciplinary teams utilising our in-house prototyping and testing facilities.
From the earliest paper or MDF rigs and prototypes, through technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality (MR), to fully representative ‘looks like, works like’ prototypes, we have the expertise to know when and how to deliver the most appropriate method of prototyping to provide direction and momentum to an innovation project.
We have built tools to control and test multi-factor inputs required for holistic experiences. Using game engines like Unity, we can rapidly design, develop and test fully immersive user interactions. Starting from initial ideas, we can take interaction solutions to a high level of maturity, ultimately providing the foundation for production embodiments.
